After attending the Chicago Public School I have witnessed many injustices, but that does not mean I have learned what justice means. I will always cherish the fact of all the high schools within the district 229 I am happily to say I will be graduating from Social Justice High School. Since freshman year I have learned the proper steps of how to achieve justice and by writing and conducting a lot of research because of this Fire Project I will able to do so. I will always share what I have learned over my four years and that is that the struggle really does continue. I can always share and speak about it what it takes to achieve justice because of attending SOJO. I understand that the halls I walk down and the seats I sit in are there because of people who seek justice and a quality education for not only their children but also the community as a whole. What I can do is share the word of what a quality education is. Explaining to my family, friends, and upper classmen is to express that justice can be achieved within our education system it just takes time to get there. Although our education is not the best it can get better over time if we make the time. The same way the hunger strikers did for us. Social Justice for all is the reason why our schools history was built up from justice and not just given because there was the money to do so. I believe by reforming our cities, countries, and possible even globally how the education system is set up we can progress and actually see what great scholars each and every student can be if we just eliminate standardizing test. No matter where a student comes from or what ethnicity a student may be everyone has his or her own mind that can develop overtime through attending a public school. Public schools should not be viewed as low performing based on who attends them a school should be viewed as a place that provides a quality education. If we can just get everyone on the same page to try and fix the education system we can get many people to grow and speak up. Speaking up is one of the hardest things anybody can do, believe me I know because I always tend to do so. I may not be the best student but I do have a voice that matters and through this Fire Project I believe I have proved that an inner city student, minority, who is viewed as a low performing student can in fact produce a quality paper explaining why I deserve a quality education.
